Today I was listening to the Velvet Underground live album, where Lou Reed explains that the song Some Kinda Love is a dialogue between a woman and a man “who wants to drink her like Tequila.” Now if I were a woman, I don’t think I would want anyone to drink me like Tequila, since to me that usually means this: as fast as possible, after a pinch of salt, and followed by a bite of lime and a nasty face, with a bunch of hooligans shouting ‘Go! Go! Do it!’
So what would I choose instead? Fine brandy? A glass of red wine? Ice water on a scorching day? I don’t know, so I am asking you, ladies — if you had the choice, what would you like to be drunk as?
By the way, ‘a skunk’ doesn’t count. I already thought of that one.
Drunk as a Monk. They drink wine all day and run around in their bathrobes. They seem to enjoy it, so I am guessing they would have to be drunk to choose to live that way. Enjoy life, it’s the only one you get.
I like the way your bubby Charlie drinks hot chocolate with little marshmallows. He sort of curls up around it and makes a physical event out of it. I think a lot of women like to feel like someone has paid close attention to them like that. The slurping sound I could skip, but it’s not really bad. I’d like to be slurped appreciatively like that!
